Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative is preparing for the possibility of damages and outages from Tropical Storm Claudette.

“Our crews are ready to respond in the event of outages,” said CCEC Communications Specialist Melissa Glenn. "If there are outages, crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power as soon as weather permits.”

If you encounter a fallen, sparking or sagging power line, do not touch it. Stay far away and call 911 immediately. If there is widespread damage, our members do not need to call. Just know that we are aware and are working to restore service as quickly as possible.

CCEC members do not need to call when their power goes out. The co-op’s substation monitoring system and Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system report real-time outage information, which is available on our Outage Map at http://outage.carteretcraven.coop. You can access the map if you have a Wi-Fi connected smartphone or tablet.
