National Drive Electric Month

National Drive Electric Month 2025 is September 12 to October 12, and CCEC is joining a nationwide celebration highlighting the many benefits of driving electric. Electric Vehicle

Electric vehicles (EVs) offer numerous benefits, making them an increasingly popular choice for environmentally conscious consumers. One of the most significant advantages is their reduced environmental impact—EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, helping to lower air pollution and combat climate change. They are also more energy-efficient than traditional gasoline-powered cars, converting a higher percentage of electrical energy into motion. Additionally, EVs often have lower operating costs due to fewer moving parts, reduced maintenance needs, and cheaper electricity compared to fuel. With advancements in battery technology and expanding charging infrastructure, EVs are becoming more practical and accessible, offering a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable way to drive.

Carteret-Craven is taking steps to make it more convenient than ever to drive an electric vehicle. Your co-op has partnered with other electric cooperatives across North Carolina to build an electric vehicle charging network that allows EV drivers to travel throughout our state and visit co-op communities easily. This network includes a Level 2 EV charging station installed on Islander Drive in Emerald Isle.
