A New Way to Manage Your Energy Costs
CCEC offers a voluntary All-Energy Time-of-Use (TOU) rate for eligible residential members. Unlike a traditional rate, where the energy charge is the same regardless of when electricity is used, All-Energy TOU has different prices throughout the day. The rate includes three pricing periods:
| Pricing Period | Energy Charge |
|---|---|
| Super Off-Peak | 5.5¢/kWh |
| Off-Peak | 6.5¢/kWh |
| On-Peak | 40¢/kWh |
There is no demand charge on the All-Energy TOU rate.
All-Energy TOU is completely voluntary. Before enrolling, consider your household’s electricity-use patterns and whether you can shift some of your energy use away from On-Peak hours.
How All-Energy Time-of-Use Works
The price you pay depends on when you use electricity.
Super Off-Peak
10 p.m. – 5 a.m. This is the lowest-cost period every day.
Good times to:
- Charge an EV
- Run a dishwasher
- Wash and dry clothes
- Heat water
- Run a pool pump
- Use other programmable appliances
Off-Peak
Electricity costs less during Off-Peak periods than during On-Peak periods. Use this time for flexible household activities whenever possible.
On-Peak
This is the highest-cost period. The goal is to reduce or shift flexible electricity use during these hours.
Ways to Shift Your Energy Use
You don’t have to change everything you do. Start by looking for a few large or flexible electricity uses that can be moved outside of On-Peak hours.
Try these simple changes:
Charge your EV overnight.
Schedule charging between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Use appliance delay settings.
Run your dishwasher, washing machine and dryer during lower-cost periods.
Program your thermostat.
Use a smart or programmable thermostat to adjust your home’s temperature before On-Peak hours begin.
Shift pool and other equipment.
If your equipment allows, use timers to move pool pumps, water heaters and other large loads to lower-cost periods.
Use smart-home technology.
Timers, smart plugs and energy-management systems can automate your energy use so you don’t have to think about it every day.

Information about the Demand TOU rate can be found here and in the rate schedule.
The Demand TOU rate is only available to members enrolled before Oct. 1, 2026. This rate is closed for enrollment.
