Wash and Dry Money Savers
Most people spend a lot of time—and electricity—doing the laundry. Here
are some helpful tips that can save you money in the laundry room.
For The Washer
- Wash only full
loads. You use the same amount of electricity to wash a small load as
a large one.
- Use the proper
wash cycle and select the shortest time necessary to get clothes
clean. Rinse clothes in cold water. Wash in cold water, too, when
possible.
For The Dryer
- Partially dry bulky and heavy items such as bedspreads, blankets,
or rugs on outdoor lines. Fresh air also gives them a pleasant scent.
- Clean the lint after each load to maintain full airflow and
maximize drying efficiency.
By using these suggestions you can keep your clothes clean and
neat—and keep money in your pocket.
